Former Bolton Wanderers attacker Mustapha Riga says he’s considering re-investing in the country’s football following government’s steps to dissolve the Ghana Football Asscociation.
Riga left his role as club chairman at Brong Ahafo United last June after taking over in November 2015.
“I am considering coming back after the reforms are made.I am a football person. That’s what I learned” Mustapha Riga revealed to this website.
“I was among the first persons to call on president Akuffo Addo to crack down the GFA because what I experience in Ghana football in my ownership of B.A United was terrible. The corruption was too much” he added.
“As I speak to you now I and my team are looking for a lower tier side to buy. I played football in Europe my whole life and I know how things are done there. That is what I want to do here that the old corrupt system wouldn’t allow me.” Riga emphasized.
Riga , who was born in Accra, played for such clubs as Vitesse Arnhem, Sparta Rotterdam in the Netherlands. He also represented Levante in Spain where he appeared in over 100 matches and in England he played for Bolton Wanderers.
