Aduana Stars head coach Kenichi Yatshuashi has explained the reasons why he made changes in the leadership of the team few days after taking over.
The Japanese trainer stressed that he needed a player who understands the plan and tactical changes he was introducing to the team.
” I need to have a captain on in the pitch, someone who is able to understand the changes we are making. A person who leads in tactical sense and who will be talking to his teammate to enforce what we are doing tactically” He told Dormaa FM.
” I’m very happy with Joseph Addo, but I think It is very difficult for a goalkeeper which is already a big responsibility to add the captaincy also. Moreover, I have to select other players not a goalkeeper who understand our tactical change very well to be the captain.”
He added: “Since as coach, I can’t be on the pitch, I need a captain who can set a good example especially in winning mentality. I observed the players during the first and other training sessions, I saw those who possess the best winning mentality in our team. Those are the ones I selected.”
“I have talked to both Addo and Elvis Opoku and they understood it perfectly, they are not worried as we will all work together as one,”
Kenichi won his first game by defeating AS Vita in Dormaa Ahenkro last week.
