Veteran football coach J E Sarpong has elaborated on the controversial term “Football People” which is used by pundits and fans of the game.
The experienced football coach shared a different view as to which set of people are to be described “football people”
“Who are the football people? He asked on Metro FM.
“For me when we say football people they are those Hearts fans, Kotoko supporters, Aduana followers, the soccer spectators who pay for tickets to watch the football. If I’m a coach I work to make these supporters of my team happy. They are the real football people. They try to do everything for their clubs.”
“Those Ex Co members, club administrators carrying themselves as football people should give us a break. It is really annoying when you listen to them talk boasting as the football people. They should drop that tag”
Sarpong has previously handled clubs including Dwarfs and he is one of the most vocal coaches in Ghana.
