Ghana youngster Richard Appiah will be playing in the CAF Confederations Cup next season after finishing second with St. Georges in the 2017/2018 Ethiopian League season.
St. Georges missed the title on goals difference of three after tying Jimma Aba Jiftar on 55 points.
Appiah joined the Ethiopian giants in the second round of the league from Laos Premier League Club Champasak FC and played twice scoring one goal due to a knee injury he sustained.
The former Cheetah FC striker is elated and already looking forward to the Confederations Cup and the domestic title next season.
“I signed for the team after the second round and I am happy we have qualified to play in the Confederations Cup. I managed to play two games and scored one goal because of a knee injury. Gradually I am recovering and I will be fit for the coming season,” Appiah told footballmadeinghana.com
“I want to help my team to win the league title next season and also at least get to the money zone of the CAF Confederations Cup. We will work as a group and hopefully achieve our aim,”
Appiah 21 was one of the hottest young strikers in Ghana and was courted by Inter Allies, Hearts of Oak, Liberty and Kotoko before he moved abroad.
