American United Soccer League side Tampa Bay Rowdies have signed Ghanaian midfielder Kwadwo Poku.
The talented central midfielder appended his signature to the deal on Wednesday evening but it will be made official when the US transfer window opens on July 10.
Poku, 26, played for Russian outfit FC Anzhi Makhachkala last season but failed to hold down a place in the team making him to opt for a return to a familiar territory.
“We are so excited to have Poku join the Tampa Bay Rowdies,” said Rowdies Chairman & CEO Bill Edwards.
“He brings a level of excitement on the field that will be very important for this team as we enter the second half of the season. Poku is a player that has succeeded at many levels of professional soccer and I have no doubt he’ll do the same under Head Coach Neill Collins.”
Poku has previously featured for New York City FC.
