Accra Hearts of Oak legend Mohammed Polo had jumped in support of government decision to bring reforms into Ghana football.
Polo stated that corruption has been in Ghana football since his playing days but it has now gone too deep and it is affecting the quality of football in the country.
Speaking to Light Fm in Kumasi, Mohammed Polo maintained that he is in support of government decision to lead the reforms for the betterment of the game.
“The government has the right to dissolve the FA, I support what the government is doing. I don’t see what is wrong with what Government is doing. When we said corruption is in the system, people didn’t believe.” Polo indicated.
“Even Europe there is corruption but when you are caught, you will be dealt with by the laws. But in Ghana here, the corruption is so deep that everyone is doing it even those serving in the highest position are engaging in it. They have made the quality of our game gone so down that everyone is thinking of money.”
“Instead of developing players from grass roots and colts football, they are talking about academies, and even the academy you have to pay before your players will be picked.”
The 1979 AFCON winner also lauded Anas Aremeyaw Anas for exposing the rots in Ghana football.
“Anas has done very well by exposing all this rot. I see nothing wrong with that. All of you were there when this rot was going on but you did nothing to stop it. Now that Government has taken over the matter you are saying you will take action. Let see what the government is going to do before we start to criticize ” He ended.
