Ghana Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan has called on the country to rally behind the national team as they play against Iceland in an international friendly at Reykjavic on Thursday evening.
All attentions have been diverted from the senior national team following the expose of corruption in Ghana football by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas on Wednesday.
Gyan says despite the fact that the nation has been turned upside down due to the revelations, all must be left for the relevant quarters to handle.
In spite of the difficult times, my plea is, as we leave the matters to the appropriate authorities,” Gyan tweeted on Thursday morning.
“The National Team is out there in a friendly today and still deserves some support because it’s Ghana.”
Ghana beat Japan 2-0 last week in Yokohama last week and are expecting another win against the World Cup debutant.
