Head coach of Ashanti Gold C K Akunnor has lauded his players after the hard-fought victory over Dreams FC.

Akunnor who was playing against his former side heaped praises on his boys for showing great desire to win the game.

“I’m proud of the boys, they showed more than Dreams. They Pushed more. Just like when we played Dwarfs, In the second half Dwarfs showed more than us and showed they wanted to score. I think we dominated the second half and put a lot of pressure forcing them to make mistakes” Akunnor told the Media after the game.

“There was the need for us to go to the wings because they occupied the middle and we couldn’t do anything. We had to go the wings and finally we got the moment of magic by scoring a goal”

When quizzed if he was aware of Ashgold record against Dream FC prior to the game, the former Black Stars skipper emphasized that he was aware of it.

” I was aware of it, I once came here with Dreams FC and won by a goal to nil. But I told the boys Ashgold is not the same as today, so we have to show it on the field of play. It was a match of a lot scary moment. My players showed a lot of character and collectively we worked as a team. In all, we are very happy”

Ashgold are second on the league long with 24 points but have one outstanding game.
