German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich have affirmed that their striker Kwasi Okyere Wriedt has gotten his maiden Black Stars call up.
The 23-year-old goal machine has been in superb form for the second team of the Bavarians scoring 17 goals in 21 games in the Regionaliga.
Bayern posted on their official website that Wriedt has been invited by Ghana for their impending friendlies in June.
“Great award for Okyere Wriedt! The top scorer of the amateurs of Bayern has been selected for the upcoming international matches of the national team of Ghana,” the Bundeslia champions revealed.
“The team of coach Kwasi Appiah will test themselves against two World Cup participants.
“Ghana meet Japan on May 30 in Yokohama.
“They then play the Iceland national team in Reykjavik on 7 June.”
Okyere has already made one appearance for the Bayern main team this season which was against Lepzig in the DFB Pokal on October 25, 2017 when he came in as a replacement for Thiago Alcantara in the 100th minute.
