Karela United Head Coach, Johnson Smith has taken a dig at Hearts of Oak players openly ridiculing them after his side thrashed the Phobians 3-1 at home on match day eight of the Ghana Premier League.
William Opoku Mensah first canceled Hearts of Oak’s Daniel Kodie’s lead before scoring twice to seal victory for Karela United. Coach Smith couldn’t hide his excitement over the win as he praised his players for the feat but surprisingly took a jab at Hearts of Oak players.
“I told my players that Hearts of Oak players are grown-ups so they should go and play against them and they did exactly what I told them. That’s why we scored them by 3-1” said Smith.
He continued: “Hearts of Oak players are grown-ups and a player who is 30 to 35years should be playing tennis or golf, not football because football nowadays is for youth not adults. I’m done with Hearts of Oak. We are focusing on our next game. When Kotoko comes and we can our day we can beat them six” a visibly elated coach Johnson Smith told journalists.
Kerala United are second on the league table with 14 points and are yet to lose at home. Their next game will be at home Elmina sharks.
