The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has suspended the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide as well as the acting Director General of the National Sports Authority, Robert Sarfo Mensah.

The suspension comes after over sixty Ghanaians posed as media men and attempted to enter Australia for the ongoing Commonwealth games.

In a letter signed by Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications in the office of the President on behalf of the first gentleman of the country, the duo are obliged to vacate their post with immediate effect.

Aside the pair, Ben Nunoo Mensah who is the chairman of the Ghana Olympic Committee, Chairman of the Sports Authority Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, as well as Chef-de-mason of the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Mohammed Sahnoon have also been called from the games to assist the CID office in investigations.
