The G-8 tournament is to be a preparatory ground for clubs eager to excel in their respective competitions in the next season and the test it gave to participating teams over the weekend is becoming clear.
Captain of Dreams FC, Leonard Owusu in a post-match interview to journalists that, his team was in the tournament to make it competitive not necessarily to win the competition.
The midfielder was of the opinion that, given the chance, they would want to win it but he insisted that, their target was to stay competitive since the G-8 tournament provides a good platform for that.
“Coming into the G-8 tournament, we had it in our minds that we are going to be competitive…Not to claim the trophy but when the chance comes, we will claim it” said the captain.
Leonard Owusu promised that, his side would go back to the drawing board to correct their mistakes and come back strongly on Wednesday when they face Kotoko in their second game.
