French Ligue1side Stade Rennes are closing in on Ghana international Richmond Boakye after having negotiations with Red Star Belgrade for his services.

French football Portal Get French News reports that officials of both clubs have met on the in form Ghanaian and talks have reached an advanced stage.

Rennes who are in desperate need of a striker are ready to offer Red Star an amount of €7m for the former Juventus striker in a four-year deal.

Boakye has been on fire for Red Star netting over forty goals in the 2017 calendar year which has seen many clubs in the top European league fighting for his signature.

Celtic, Stoke City, West Brom, Crystal Palace, Monchengladbach and Anderlecht are also interested in him.
