Asante Kotoko made known their 26-man-squad for the CAF Confederation Cup this week.
To the surprise some supporters and sections of the media, gifted centre back, Richard Osei Agyemang’s name wasn’t in the list submitted by the club to the Confederation of African football.
The player, who is in his third season at Kotoko has seen less playing time in the past few months but he’s pushing hard for a regular place since his quality hasn’t diminished at all.
He told Kumasi based Silver FM in an interview on Friday that, he won’t let the Africa exclusion dampen his spirit.
“When the news came and my name was out of the list, I was shocked but that’s football. If something like this happens, you just have to encourage yourself and train hard” said the defender.
“If because of this and you refuse to train, there could be opportunities that might come your way and if you are not fit enough, you will disgrace yourself”.
