Information available to FootballMadeInGhana.com indicates that, Kotoko’s Management has been making overtures to journalists who resigned from the club’s official newspaper, Kotoko Express, last year to return.
Kotoko Express Editor, Jerome Otchere; Senior reporter, Bernard Nyankomago Yeboah courageously tendered in their resignation citing the Management’s poor handling of issues undermining the club’s media outlets.
A third journalist, Gideon Boakye Botchway, a deepthroat source at the club told us, verbally communicated his resignation. He’s been seen around the club lately as he has accepted to work.
Kotoko Express hasn’t been published since August 2017.
The Management is coming under some pressure to make Kotoko’s website more functional while restoring Kotoko Express, which was reintroduced by the Sylvester Asare Owusu administration 15 years ago after the Herbert Mensah era.
Head of Communication at Kotoko, Obed Acheampong according to our reliable source at Kotoko, contacted Bernard Nyankomago Yeboah in a bid to re-engage him.
His attempt however hit a snag.
An emissary he sent to Bernard last week also failed to persuade the journalist, our source disclosed. “They couldn’t reach an agreement. Obed wants Bernard and Gideon back to help but it hasn’t been that easy” the source added.
When former Editor, Jerome Otchere, was contacted by this writer to confirm or deny if he’s been approached, he answered in the negative but added that, they wouldn’t have the moral courage to discuss anything with him adding that, he can’t work with the Management over issues of principle.
