The playing surface at the Len Clay Stadium has undergone special treatment ahead of its hosting of the double-header semi finals of this year’s MTN FA Cup competition on Sunday.
Members of the FA Cup Committee were left awed at the sight of the well manicured pitch as they took a tour of the facility two days to the Super Sunday clashes.
Hearts of Oak will take on Wa All Stars in the first game of the Super Sunday schedule with Asante Kotoko also facing Medeama later at the same venue for a place in finals of this year’s knockout competition.
The Len Clay Stadium boasts of one of the best playing surfaces in Ghana and a visit by the organizers on Friday further confirmed this known fact.
“We are very much impressed with what we have seen here today, in particular the pitch,” Chairman of the FA Cup Committee Kurt E.S Okraku told FootballMadeInGhana.com.
“I am very sure the appetite of the participating teams will be so wet when they arrive here to this pitch.
“This competition has always been associated with quality and with this pitch at least fans who will come to watch the games will be assured of high level of quality as far as the pitch is concerned.”
Management of the Len Clay Stadium ensured efforts of their groundsmen were doubled as soon as the venue for the semi final clashes was confirmed last month.
The four participating teams are expected to arrive in Obuasi on Saturday to take part in final formalities for the games on Sunday.
