The three Kumasi Asante Kotoko players who represented Ghana at the just ended WAFU Championship have donated an unspecified amount of money to their colleagues.
The trio namely skipper Amos Frimpong, central defender Ahmed Adams and goalkeeper Felix Annan joined their teammates yesterday at the Baba Yara Stadium for the first time since the competition ended.
Frimpong and the two other players surprised their teammates after training at the Baba Yara stadium by donating some undisclosed amount of cash to them.
Deputy Captain of the team, Eric Donkor received the donation on behalf of the team and also thanked the three players for exhibiting a kind of gesture.
Speaking to the press after the training session, Amos Frimpong indicated that it was good for them to also give their colleagues some of the amount they got as it will serve as a morale booster for the game against Medeama on Sunday.
“The three of us thought it wise not to use what we got from the WAFU Cup of Nations tournament alone, so we decided to make this donation to the team and also to boost their spirit ahead of our encounter with Medeama SC.”
When asked how much they donated to the team , the captain refused to disclose the amount by saying that it will remain between the players and the management.
