Ghana defender Samuel ” Mensiro” Mensah has praised the output of his team Ostersunds FK in their 2-0 win over Greek side PAOK at Jamkraft Arena on Thursday night which saw them securing qualification to the group stages of the 2017/2018 Europa League.
The Swedish minnows lost the first leg in Thessaloniki last week by three goals to one despite scoring first but they came all out in the return leg scoring two goals in the space of six minutes as they booked their place in European.
Mensah, who has been instrumental throughout the campaign for OFK replaced Jamie Hopcutt as a late substitute as they cruised to victory and he emphasized that they deserved it.
“It was a great game for us, we had every believe that we will qualify to the group stage despite losing the first game by three goals to one,” Mensah told footballmadeinghana.com
“We created some decent chances and we buried two of them, we are absolutely happy especially my self. Few years ago we were in the lower division but now we are competing with some of the best on the continent”
“We are getting ready for the group stage draw and we are prepared for any team,”
Mensah, 28, was courted by Danish side Nordsjaelland this summer but chose to extend his contract with OFK by three more years.
