The chairman of Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports, Alexander Agyekum has explained why GNPC canceled their sponsorship contract with the Black Stars
Agyekum pointed out that the Ghana FA and the ministry were not transparent in their dealings with the Petroleum Company and this made them to call it quit.
“There was no transparency in the dealings of the GFA. GNPC paid former coach Avram Grant $50,000 a month and a total of $600,000 a year,” Agyekum told Footballmadeinghana.com
“They also gave the FA an amount of $3m for other expenses,”
He added: “It is unfortunate to hear from the FA that GNPC gave them only $2m and which they used some for other expenses. This are all false,”
The deal between the two parties was terminated earlier this year.
