Deputy Sports Minister of Ghana, Pius Enam Hadzide over the weekend donated football items to two third-tier clubs in the Eastern Region.
The two clubs namely Asuogyaman Crystal Palace and Somanya Bazooka FC locked horns on Sunday in a league game in which the honorable minister was present.
After the game in which Crystal Palace won 4-0, the minister gave football equipment including balls and others to both teams and encouraged them to work hard as football can elevate their status.
“I want to urge you on to take football serious as it can help you to get somewhere in future. Many people have made it big in the sports and if you are serious you can also reach greater heights,” Hadzide stated.
The Asuogyaman and Somanya area have over the years produced players such as Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid and Maxwell Boadu-Acosty of Italian Serie B side Crotone as well as former FC Twente midfielder Shadrach Eghan.
