The chairman of the Ghana MTN FA Cup committee, Kurt E.S Okraku has revealed that there will be extra time should any of the quarter finals games end in a draw within the stipulated 90 minutes.
The FA Cup boss pointed out the playing of extra time of fifteen minutes in each half was instituted as it could help to get a winner before the lottery of penalty shootout.
“There will be extra time if any of the games ends in a draw and after extra time if the scores still remains even, there will be penalty shootout,”Okraku stated during the quarter finals draw on Tuesday
“Clubs should take note and probably prepare for extra minutes. They should also make sure their attires are properly branded for next round of matches,”
“The sponsors MTN and Star Times will also be given out free GHC 100 of air time and a decoder to the man of the match,”
The matches will be honored on the weekend of 29th and 30th of July 2017.
