Accra Hearts of Oak coach Henry Wellington has attributed his side’s defeat to Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the Presidential Cup game on Monday afternoon to fatigue.
Wellington pointed out that his charges were tired that was why they lost as they brought only 20 players to Kumasi and the game on Sunday was rained off only to be rescheduled.
” We lost the game due to fatigue because we brought only 20 players to Kumasi and unfortunately the first game was rained off and we used the same players the next day,” Wellington stated.
“Kotoko had the advantage of playing at home and changed most of the players they used on Sunday,”
“The penalties was everyone’s game , we came into the game to win but it went the other way. All the same I must congratulate Asante Kotoko for defending the trophy successfully”
“The way we played if we are to continue like that then the sky will be our limit.”
Accra Hearts Oak lost 4-1 on penalties to retain the President Cup.
