Egypt-based striker John Antwi remains hopeful of playing for Ghana despite being persistently overlooked.
The 24-year-old is one of the famous foreign players in the North African country having emerged top scorer in the Egyptian top flight on two occasions.
Antwi is yet to receive a call up to the Black Stars despite his consistent displays at club level – much to the surprise of many.
But the Al Ahly striker who is currently on loan at El-Maqasa is still confident he will get his chance with the Black Stars that is desperately in search of another proven scorer.
“Of course it is the dreams of every footballer to play for his nation so yes, I expect a call up,” he told FootballMadeInGhana.com.
“I think at the right time, I will also get my chance. It is up to the technical handlers.
“I will continue to do my part by performing well at club level and leave the rest to the technical team.
“But I am sure when the time is right, I will also get a call up.”
Antwi scored a hat trick in Maqasa’s 4-1 mauling of El Nasr Tadeen o Thursday to extend his tally to 10 goals since joining the Fayoum-based club in just the second half of the season from Ahly.
