Zone III league leaders Dreams FC only needed a 2nd minute opener to secure victory over Dynamo FC at the Ho Sports Complex in a match day 18 fixture on Wednesday afternoon.
Striker Michael Sarpong was aggressive from the blast of the whistle, winning an infringement in the opponents goal area under sixty seconds.
Sarpong completed his damage when he connected well to Ben Ayim’s free-kick, beating Mohammed Yakil, goalkeeper in post for Dynamo.
The hosts were unsettled by the goal and hardly found their rhythm against Karim Zito’s lads.
Striker Eric Gawu could have doubled the lead for Dreams minutes before recess but shot wide in the penalty box.
Manager Zito made all three subs for the second half of the game, holding off the pressure from Dynamo who fought tirelessly for an equalizer.
Goalkeeper Ishawu’s brave efforts in the last quarter was crucial as Dreams held on to a lone goal victory on an uneven playing turf at the Ho Stadium.
The win keeps Dreams at the top of the log while Dynamo languish at the bottom with 11 points.
The league leaders play Phar Rangers in a local derby at the Theatre of Dreams in Sunday’s match-day 19 fixture.
