Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah has confirmed he is close to sealing a ‘dream’ move to an unnamed English club, FootballMadeInGhana.com can exclusively reveal.
The 25-year-old is being courted by several clubs having impressed in just his first season at Italian club Torino.
Acquah, currently in Ghana on holidays has been holding behind the scenes talks with his agent and officials of his Italian club over the move.
The Black Stars player confirms his move to an English club is 90 percent certain.
“Yes, it is very likely I will be moving to England,” he told FootballMadeInGhana.com.
“It is 90 percent complete but we are still talking, once we finish, I am sure an announcement will be made.
“It has been a dream of mine to play in England and I am very close to achieving this.”
Acquah has blossomed in recent years having endured turbulent times when he first moved to Europe where he joined Palermo.
He was loaned out to Parma, Hoffenheim and Sampdoria where he started enjoying some consistency.
If the move materialize, the defensive midfielder will swell the number of Ghanaians in the Premier League – joining the likes of Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew and Daniel Amartey.
