Ghana international Abdul Rahman Baba has returned to Chelsea after ending his one-year loan deal with Bundesliga side Schalke 04.
The Ghanaian left-back torn the ligaments in his knee in January during the 2017 AFCON and has been out of action since then.
The former Augsburg star underwent surgery and rehabilitation and he is now fit for the coming season.
Baba was among the few players who have begun the initial stages of Chelsea’s pre-season as he was spotted on Friday at the Cobham training grounds doing some ball juggling and running.
The 22-year-old has been linked with the likes of Everton, Schalke, Newcastle and Milan but close sources have revealed that he could stay at Chelsea in a busy season which the Blues are competing for quadruple.
