The deputy Minister of Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide has revealed that the Black Stars winning bonus for the 5-0 AFCON 2019 qualifying win over the Walia Antelopes of Ethiopia has been pegged at $5000.

The Minister revealed that the team will receive the same amount in each of their wins in the qualifiers since it is what the Government wants to pay.

“The government will pay an amount of 5000 USD to the Black Stars for all the AFCON qualifying matches, and World Cup qualifying matches excluding that of World Cup tournament matches since that will be announce later” Hadzide stated in a Press Conference

“Notwithstanding, Government will later announce a special comprehensive package which will include insurance of the players, Welfare, Per-diem and Allowances.”

“All stakeholders especially the media should cooperate and understand the current difficult economic condition of country,”

The Black Stars players were previously receiving $10,000 as winning bonus before it was slashed down this year.
