Ghana midfielder Yusif Chibsah Raman wrote his name in the history books of Italian football on Thursday as he became the first African player to qualify two clubs to the Serie A.
Chibsah was instrumental for Benevento as they won the only slot to Serie A via winning the six-team play off grand final against Carpi.
The 23-year-old holding midfielder was at the heart of midfield for Sassuolo when they qualified to the Serie A during the 2013/2014 season as Serie B champions.
He netted the decisive goal for Benevento in the semi finals of the play-off when they defeated Perugia by a lone goal to nothing at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito.
The midfielder signed for Benevento on loan from Sassuolo at the beginning of the 2016/2017 season and has been very instrumental in manager Marco Baroni’s side.
