Ghana star Andre Ayew has tasked the nation to win the 2019 African Cup of Nations which will be held in Cameroon.

Ayew believes Ghana has the right materials to win their 5th AFCON title after over three and half decade.

Ghana has played three times in the AFCON finals after winning the tournament in Libya in 1982 but has lost all.

But the son of the former Ghana skipper is confident that the time has come for the Black Stars to win the long elusive title.

“We have not been able to win the AFCON since 1982 and I think it is not good for the nation” Ayew stated.

“Although we want to win the tournament in Cameroon, we must focus of qualifying first because I think we are in a tough group,”

As a professional players we are ready to give out our best and we need the support of every Ghanaian. We must put what happened in Brazil behind us,”

Ghana are paired in the same group with Kenya, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone.
