Chairman and founder of Mirage Football Academy, Sarpong Boateng Okyere has expressed joy over the growth and maturity in the academy’s U19 squad.
His statements follow positive results from series of trial games with clubs from the Ghana Premier League and the GN Bank Division One League.
Coach Daniel Lamptey’s boys major test was against domestic giants Accra Hearts of Oak, a game which ended in a goalless draw at the Legon Ajax park a fortnight ago.
The team recorded same results against Vision FC, Right to Dreams Academy and Still Believe FC.
“It has been a long way for us to get to this level. It’s exciting when these young boys get results against the big guys”, he explained.
“But I always thank the teams for such games because they keep us competitive”, Sarpong concluded.
Mirage Football Academy was formed in November 2011 and draws its technical strength from well resourced experts. The list includes Seth Twumasi (Ex Chelsea Academy Trainee), Eddie Mcgoldrick (Fmr Arsenal & ManCity Player) and Dary Willard (UEFA Pro License Coach & former England player).
