Ghanaian defender Lawrence Lartey will no longer be part of Ajax Cape Tiwn’s future after the South African outfit failed to extend his contract.
The 23 year old made 20 appearances for the side in the just ended 2016/17 season but will cease to be a member of the as his term expires in June 2017.
The club’s coach Stanley Menzo made this known after hitting out at his players’ performances on the last day of the season in the South African top division.
“The players who are at the end of their contracts are Abel [Mabaso], Nathan [Paulse], Cheeseboy [Lebohang Mokoena], [Aubrey] Funga and Lawrence Lartey,” He told Supersports after the Urban Warriors suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Baroka.
“Those players are at the end of their contracts,” he emphasized but was quick to add he could have some of them stay.
Lartey arrived Ajax in November 2015 on a deal ending June 30, 2017.
