English-born Ghanaian teenager Ethan Ampadu has been called into the Welsh national team ahead of June’s World Cup qualifier in Serbia.
The 16-year-old defensive midfielder has been in fine form for Exeter this season and has already been watched by the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham.
Ampadu was not selected by the Welsh under 19 for a tournament in France this month mainly because he was been considered by senior national team manager Chris Coleman.
The budding midfield anchor is the son of Patrick Kwame Ampadu, a Ghanaian who works for Arsenal and an Irish mother.
He is also eligible to play for Ghana, England and Ireland.
