The GN Bank Division One League is proceeding on an 18-day break following the end of the first half of the season on Wednesday.
All three zones of the second tier league will resume on June 11, the Division One League Board has announced.
This is to afford clubs to rest their players – albeit briefly – ahead of what promises to be a grueling second half of the season.
The 2016/2017 Division One League season has seen no breaks – with exceptions to FA Cup weeks – since its commencement on February 18.
The break will thus be a welcoming breather for coaches and players while the medical teams of clubs will be looking to return injured players to full fitness during this period.
This also means the plight of Muslim players during the holy month of Ramadan which begins this weekend will be eased as they will have about 15-days off without competitive action in the 30-day period of fasting and prayer.
