Hapoel Afula are desperate to keep hold of Philemon McCarthy with several clubs circling in to make a swoop for the Ghana goalkeeper.
The Israeli fear they could be financially outmuscled when the transfer window opens this summer.
McCarthy has overly impressed since joining Afula in January from Dreams FC.
The former WAFA goalkeeper has managed 11 clean sheets from 22 games as he helped Afula steer clear of relegation.
Several clubs in Israel have taken notice of McCarthy’s heroics are ready to match the asking price to take the goalkeeper.
Afula are eager to keep hold of the Ghanaian but are struggling to raise the required funds to secure the future of their first choice goalkeeper.
“The season ends this weekend and there are a lot of clubs in Israel who want to take Philemon [Mccarthy],” a source close to the player told FootballMadeInGhana.com.
“Afula want to keep him but I don’t know if they will be able to do so.
“Philemon will go to Ghana for holidays after the season, during which period we will decide what is best for him.
“But it is clear he has performed so well to open a lot of opportunities for himself.”
Afula who are currently 9th in the league will host Hapoel Jerusalem on Friday to finish of their season.
