New Rangers Manager Pedro Caixinha is looking forward to make powerful Ghanaian centre-back Rashid Sumaila his first signing.
Caixinha is a big fun of the Ghanaian and has repeatedly stated that he is his ‘trusted centre-back’ after taking him on loan at Qatari club Al-Gharafa from Kuwait’s Al-Qadisa.
English Portal Daily Mail reports that the Portuguese representative of the Ghanaian has already been approached by officials of Rangers over a possible summer move to Scotland.
‘I can confirm that Rangers have approached the player and informed his club in Kuwait,’ Pedro Serpa Pinto told Sportsmail.
‘As you know the player is on loan at Al Gharafa right now. But he likes the coach Pedro Caixinha and he would like to work with him again in Scotland.
‘I think this can happen. But so far nobody from Rangers has been in contact with me directly.’
Sumaila who is owned by Al Qadisiya in Kuwait won five man of the match awards during his loan spell at Al Gharafa.
