Dreams FC maintained top spot in Zone 3 of the GN Bank Division One League with a lone Victory over Phar Rangers FC on match day 12.
Despite playing at the Theatre of Dreams, Dreams were the guests as Rangers have adopted Dawu as their home ground for the 2016/17 season.
The game kicked off with the needed ambience of a local derby between two sides based on the hilly & mountainous parts of the eastern region.
Dreams were caught out in the opening minutes of the match as Manager Karim Zito paraded a similar line up from match day 11.
But after 15 minutes of game action, the Still Believe lads were in control with Lomotey and Owusu manning up the midfield in great style.
In-form Rashid Sani was also at his best on the afternoon as he kept the opponent’s defense busy on several occasions.
He struck gold in the 33rd minute, one of superb beauty and finesse, hitting an inner spot on the upright to grab the opener for Dreams FC.
Rashid’s fourth goal of the season could have lead to more but Emmanuel Lomotey failed to control a goal mouth opportunity from rising above the crossbar.
Manager Zito was forced with two substitutions in the first half but maintained his side’s dominance with the introduction of Sharani and Asante.
Not much changed in the second half of the game after recess as Rangers pushed for an equaliser, exposing their defense line to the mercy of Owusu and Sharani.
Phar Rangers had enough luck on the day to have ended the game with 11 men as they turned up too physical with tackles in their quest for a goal to salvage a point.
A more experienced Dreams FC hung on for the victory on Sunday afternoon, making it 10 wins and 2 draws in 12 matches.
Dreams FC play Ho based Dynamo FC on match day 13.
