Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman has successfully undergone surgery in Germany to fix his recent injury, FootballMadeInGhana.com can exclusively reveal.
The 22-year-old was operated on by the renowned specialist Prof. Dr. Bönisch at the Hessingpark-Klink hospital in Augsburg on Monday afternoon.
The two-hour procedure was declared a success with the left-back being given sometime to heal before commencing rehabilitation.
Baba suffered a serious knee injury while in action for Ghana at the African Cup of Nation currently underway in Gabon.
The injury is set to rule the on-loan Chelsea defender now with Schalke out of action for seven months.
Baba first traveled to London to be assessed by doctors of his parent club before being given clearance to travel to Germany for the surgery.
The Ghana international was returning to his best form before suffering the setback of the injury.
Doctors are however confident he will make a full recovery considering this is the first major injury setback he has suffered in his career.
